Polar Bear Plunge

What can you do to help others, enjoy the outdoors and tick off another one of those things few people ever dare to do?  Maybe take a short swim in some frigid water...

Hmmm, just about -11F I noticed as I sipped the morning coffee.  Today's high - a very balmy 5F

What little moisture freezes onto glass in spectacular patterns.

Maybe a good dare today would be to jump into a lake...

Frozen over for many weeks now, this pool was cut out with a chain saw and kept from re-freezing by constant sweeping over the surface with a scrapper...

And here they come! This years polar bears wander out towards the pool! These two were the Tequila Twins from Tucson...

What would jumping in freezing cold water on a frigid day be without a visit from Big Foot?

LOL... pajamas and Sorrels...

More participants wander down

The kick off - by the most senior polar bear!

Snow White and her pals...

This was just something they wanted to do...

Alas the 2018 plunge is over.  The event raised funds for a very good cause, "Angle on My Shoulder

Another wonderful day in the very cold Northern Wisconsin winter.
